Now that VMK has left us I, like many, are trying to track down our friends. So, here I am!

I hope you are too! LOL!

There is something very sad about this - if only that it provides an example of what an impact VMK had on so many people over the past few years, and how the folks at WDIG never understood (or chose to ignore) the scope of the real frienships that their "virtual promotion" spawned.

I agree. I think that a lot of people outside of the game viewed VMK as just that, a game. I don't think that non-VMKers understand the kind of social community that was built in the game. For many kids this was the first online social experience they had.
I hope that everyone is able to reconnect with friends from the game, and perhaps find a new MMO to enjoy.
