I just wondering how everyone chose their VMK names. Are there meanings behind them? Or was it just a random name off the top of your head?

well i have this extreme obbsesion with anime, and in ninhongo(thats japanese for the word "japanese") chibi means "little" so when you draw a smaller cuter version of a character they call it a chibi. when i first designed my character i though it looked like a chibi version of me, before i made all the changes to it, hence the name superchibi, although i don't know where i got the super from...

Let's see, I have always liked kangaroos because they are so different from other animals. I was born with the initials of pal. And I have always used them in what I create. So I combined the two and became kangapal!

I have been called Geisha Girl by my family since birth. Over the years it was shortened to Geish and most of my family and close friends call me that. I don't really remember ever being called Geisha Girl, it has been so long since it was shortened! It just cracks me up, since I have always had blonde hair and blue eyes and look nothing like a Geisha! I think I look more like Tink!

When you own your own business it is as much WHO you are as WHAT you do! So I am not only Shape on VMK, but in a way, in real life too!

When my oldest (Jorash) joined VMK, I went on just to check it out and make sure it was appropriate. My title was more of an in your face to my kids than anything else. A statement so to speak. I originally was MomIsAlwaysRight for about a month. Then out of the blue, I got a message telling me I was a guest again and I needed another title. Being English, I chose Mum and was accepted.

mine is from the movie the goonies, was only supposed to be goonies but i had a slip of the finger in the keyboard and didn't realize it until my name was approved lol. I at first was going for Aneerb, but it was taken already and thanks to cat for introducing me to her friend Aneerb i now know why i couldnt take that name lol. I think that if i had to pick another name for my character, if for some reason gooniest wasnt approved, then i might have gone with boogie! lol

This is too funny. Aneerb is Jorash best friend. Reverse the letters and you get the kids real name. She and Jorash have known each other since they were in diapers. They lived about 8 doors down. Being Military we would move apart from each other but would always end up in the same town again. Aneerb right now is in CA, but hopefully will be back in NC in a year or so.
My question is, Why would you have chosen Aneerb?

Well, mine is a long story but i'll shorten it a bit.

Zackoid came about oh, say back in 97. I was a fan of Home Improvement. And, this one dude who said he was zach (Which it wasn't) had the Little green alien plush doll from long ago where you press it's tummy and it speaks. I thought it was cutest thing! I love Toy Story and the aliens are just so cool! When I heard that I instantly thought, Zackoid! Cool! And then when i came up with the name i thought of the Domino's Pizza mascot the Noid. Combined both and that's what I came up with Zackoid!

So, Anywhere on the net you see my name you'll find me (sadly). Google me. a LOT of things will come up!

The word "Splunge" comes from a Monty Python skit, episode 1, "Twentieth Century Vole".

In that skit six Hollywood writers all try to kiss up to a film producer (played by the late Graham Chapman) who's in a meeting room with them asking them for feedback on his new movie ideas. It got to a point where he booted one for being a "yes-man," another for not liking his idea despite the producer saying that it was ok to not like his ideas, and another for being indecisive about liking or not liking his idea. So when it came to asking this one fearful writer (played by Terry Jones) hoping to keep his job and out of desperation he utters the word "splunge!" When ask what splunge meant, he responds,

"It means, it's a great idea but possibly not and I'm not being indecisive!"

to which the producer accepts his answer and asks the other two remaining writers and they all say splunge for the producer's approval. Later in the skit when he starts asking the writers to complete a proposed movie line he asks the Terry Jones writer again, "She says something funny like..." and then the writer with no idea what to say, says "splunge" again, this time with a confident smile as if he thinks he's got this one again, to which the producer responds back, "That's the stupidest idea I ever heard. Get out!"

The first time I saw this skit I could not stop laughing, but it is only funny when watched on the TV. Reading the script or telling about it does it no justice, but then again it is wacky British humour so it might be hit or miss to some. http://www.ibras.dk/montypython/episode06.htm#10

As for VMK, Splunge by itself was apparently taken already so I appended -idea to the end of it.


Speaking of the Noid, I remember this one Simpsons episode where there was a parade and one of the balloons was the Noid and Marge was enthusiastic about seeing the Noid balloon. I thought that was funny because it was such a random 80s reference.

I am a big Buffy the Vampire Slayer fan. You cannot walk into any of my rooms and not see something Buffy whether it be the DVD's, television stations promotional posters, action figures still in the box as a border around the top the room, comics, and even scrapbooks of all articles pertaining to Joss Whedon and his genius creations. I have been told already that I need help just in case you are all wondering, LOL. Anyway when I created my character it obviously had to come from the mind of Joss and while Angel and Firefly rock as well I had to go with where the obsession all began, Buffy. However while trying to come up with a name that wasn't already being used (no alpha or ace for this chicky) I ran into so many problems. Every character and demon name I chose was denied. When I got to Willow's character I thought about her contributon to the Scooby Gang and came up with MagicWillow. Crossing my fingers and secretly knowing that it had to have been used before I was amazingly surprised and accepted. I also did a MagicWilloh at the park to have the born in park badge and then liked DarkWilloh better so I made her too but by that time the original character had a nice core group of friends and her rooms all done up pretty so I never go on as the others usually except to quest if it something really nice or I'm bored. If your ever looking for a missed in game quest item then definately ask me because more often then not I will have extra to spare if I had the time to do it with my other girls.

TInk-Bell, this was a brilliant idea for a topic. Going through VMK, I often wonder that question. I always find the stories behind the names fascinating.

I believe my VMK name is fairly obvious to those in California or in the west, especially with my signature on this site. I went to the University of California, Berkeley, and, therefore, I am a Golden Bear.

i had almost an entire room just for monsters inc teleporters o_o!

Hey, if I had gone off of my school mascot, my title would have Comet or Dragon in it... I got the cool mascots, even though the Comet is kinda... weird?

well my nickname is Silver and people are telling me i am crazy. and i didn't feel like using the c since thats how its usually spelled and i couldn't use silver since silver had already been taken (lol that silver is my friend btw) so KrazySilver was born!! ^^ i use that for my e-mail too. lol its funny.

And I hope I don't break any rules by answering but it's just so lame, there is no other way to do it. It's my name - well, initials and last name that is. See? Isn't that the lamest? When I signed on, I just automatically used what I always use for a user name, not realizing that what I was doing was making my title!

I really hate it. As a matter of fact, I've decided that while we are in WDW next week (WOOT WOOT !!!! ) I am going to make a new character just so I can have that "Born in the Park" badge and move as much of my stuff to that new character.

Okay, it's official! I've changed my VMK character to "refusetogrowup." Those that know me, know that this is the perfect title for me!

I used to play another game where I needed a name for a special female hero-type character, similar to King Arthur's Lancelot. My character in that game became Lancelette (and she still lives, even if in semi-retirement). When my first few name choices were denied or already in use for VMK, I fell back on Lancelette.

Well... my nickname since birth has been Ginny... and over the years I have had friends change that nickname to all sorts of things like "gingin," "gingerbread," "gin," "ginnia" etc.

VMK denied me putting Ginny, so I decided on Ginnia, a few of my really good friends call me by that name, so it works!

I am really into the singer ciara so i named my character ciararoks

Well i'm a big fan of the musical/movie RENT, and in RENT there a cross dresser name Angel and is my fav.And my name is Chris but since i'm a female I wanted to make my name sound more girly.So I came up with AngelChrisy

When I got my VMK account, I just got a new Lil' Bratz doll.

I thought about something that would represent me.. then I saw a shirt hanging in my closet that read "Little Princess" (LOL) Perfect! I asked for Lilprincess but they said I had to add a word at the beginning of it.

So I replaced princess with queeny!

Lil + queeny = Lilqueeny!!

Then I started using "lilqueeny" for almost every account I mad after that. Example: Photobucket

Well to tell the truth "veireira" isn't my original account! I know shocking! But yeah the whole wenhow is from when I was like 4 years old and I wanted to write a book titled when?how?why? but of course I spelled it wrong..and then a few year ago I found the book and wenhow just stuck.

We had to say random names for art class so we could be creative. Somebody said oogaleeboogalee and I got attached to that (and the girl who said it). In second grade (about 5 years ago) I signed up for neopets (I DON'T PLAY ANYMORE. IT DID ROCK THOUGH) with the name oogabooga. That name was taken, so I did oogabooha. That led to copyrighting, soon trademarking, and so on.

My VMK name was simple to come up with,
My name mixed in with my brother's. I hope they never take it.

my friend made mine up as a inside joke , then i thought why not use it for everything! so thats how i started. lol

I was hooked on this Canadian tv show, Instant Star, a drama about a teenage girl who became a famous singer. One of the songs on the soundtrack was "Your Eyes". I became obsessed with that song shortly before becoming a VMK member. The rest is history....
